Sooo there is this little boy...
He kinda stole my heart...
He calls me Mimi....
I am going to be honest, I didn’t sleep well last night. I tossed and turned thinking about your first day at school today.... the very fact that you will be starting school today took my breath away for a moment. How did you get so big that fast??
Today, you start your journey on an exciting chapter in your young life and I want to tell you so, so many things ...
What will your teacher will be like, will she be nice?(she better be) I know I am being selfish, you’ll make new friends and have a blast, but your Mimi is surely going to miss you even if it is only a couple hours. Please believe me when I tell you how special you are, and how everyone that meets you will soon know too.You are so incredibly smart that I can hardly stand it.
I know you will have no problem finding your way in this new world. Everything is going to be great. Your going to be an amazing student and friend to all in your new class.
While you embrace the adventure and this new experience , just know your Mimi may or may not be in the parking lot with binoculars watching you...ha ha..
Sending you off to school today has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I could hear my heart pounding in my ears as your backpack disappeared through the school door. I almost called the school , as well as your mommy and daddy, and told them I was going to keep you here with me so I could home school you! Then at least I’d know I could watch over you and protect you. But then I realized how selfish that was, as you need to go out there and have all of the amazing experiences I can’t provide for you here. You’re going to shine so bright!
You’re about to learn so many new things. Please be patient with others . Not everyone is as smart as you and moves at the same pace.
As I walked you to your class , and we entered the door your teacher had told you remove a piece of paper from your backpack and put it in your "cubby" . Well you were talking to another little boy, and did not hear her, so your Mimi was just about to do it for you, when I got a scolding from Miss Angela , your teacher...She said she wanted YOU to do it...Oh dear who would have thought Mimi would have been the first one in trouble with the teacher. I promise I will work on that ...hee hee
I’ll be counting down the minutes until I see your little face appear out the door to meet me. I’ll be there waiting, looking forward to hearing all about your important day – your first day at ‘big school’.
I love you and I am so proud of you. Go get ‘em!
Love, Mimi
